Independent Non-Executive Director

Catherine is an experienced NED with an extensive portfolio of approximately 50 Board positions over 18 years.

After a professional career as a commercial lawyer, Catherine moved into the business world in 1992 and has developed wide knowledge and experience across a broad range of sectors such as agribusiness, food and health, energy and water, and science and technology.

Organizations that she has been involved with include startups, SME’s, public sector, private sector, ASX listed, and NFP on a national and international basis including many with global export businesses.

She also brings the unique skill set of having expertise as a business owner and operator, as a government appointee to boards  and as a Regulator, enabling an understanding of all perspectives and a deep understanding of possible solutions and other options.

Her skills span:

  • Expertise in food and agribusiness including dairy, meat, egg, wine, grains and seafood
  • Knowledge of the issues facing large businesses and SME’s (including regionally based organizations)
  • Significant expertise in energy, water, waste management and environmental issues
  • Product development, supply chain management and developing / emerging markets, both domestic and international
  • Experience in R&D (and IP) programs with a view to commercialization
  • Extensive involvement in a number of sectors including from service delivery and infrastructure perspectives
  • Experience in the use of media, including social media, for both marketing and social license purposes
  • Training and future workforce development, particularly in regional areas

Career highlights include the establishment of a national joint venture Rural Bank, being awarded as a Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist twice, inclusion in an international management program at GE in New York and more recently winning a position in the ASX Top 200 Chairman’s Mentoring program run by the AICD.

Catherine is an experienced Audit Committee Chair and currently holds a number of positions on such committees both within companies that she is a director of and a number as the external independent expert. Her strategic, governance and risk management skills are well established.

Her style is collegiate, pragmatic and ethical with a strong solution orientated mindset (and a sense of humor!)
